Once donned, I was immediately snapped back to centuries before our time when Rome was the superpower and men fought for strength and honor. Russel Crowe turned to me and spoke softly as we stood across from two men clad in leather body armor holding only a spear and shield with a sword for a “sidearm”. He told me there was once a dream that was Rome… his voice was drowned out by the crys of the crowd, “SPANIARD!! SPANIARD!! SPANIARD!!!”. The rest is history, no pun intended. Oh and i guess you can use these for intiment sexual experience too although I don’t see why you’d want to pass on a chance to fight alongside Russel Crowe.

This kilt is a revision of the “Mountain Kilt” by Mountain Gear. I loved the first edition (bought 4) and this is actually an improvement. First, it looks more like a kilt and less like a skirt than the older model! (Not that that’s a huge problem.) The new addition of pleats adds the “kilt look and feel” to this product. The material (a relatively heavy brushed nylon)l seems more rugged than the previous model too. I like the color “otter” – looks like military olive green. It doesn’t draw as much attention as its tartan cousins. “Oh, I just realized, you’re wearing a kilt!” And, there are now two relatively large cargo pockets. The bonus of both this kilt and it’s predecessor is that the brushed nylon cloth makes it LOW MAINTENANCE. Unlike other kilts, this kilt can be rolled up and stuffed in your backpack – try that with most other kilts! I’ve got several brands of kilts, this is my choice for a daily, low maintenance, outdoorsy kilt. And did I add the “freedom factor” a kilt has?

All kidding aside, this leather kilt is worth every penny. It is a lot more versatile than you might expect. I wear mine around the house, in the boudoir, and even to the job site: The double-ply leather and riveted construction provides a little extra protection, if you know what I mean, and it looks a lot sharper than a traditional cup or codpiece. You can probably also wear it underneath your jeans or slacks, although if you want a less ostentatious look, I’m sure there are cheaper, less elegant alternatives on the market. I also find this leather kilt indispensable around the kitchen. Layered with a pair of Elegant Moments CHAPS, this kilt will keep you protected from bubbling soups, sizzling bacon, and everything in between!
