I’ve found this kilt to be comfortable, especially for hiking around on hot days–plenty of air circulation! The fabric is lightweight and cool. The pockets are kind of awkward, though–whatever I’m carrying bangs against my thighs, and they’re positioned so that they’re under the rear of my thighs when I sit. A Utilikilt would hold more stuff more comfortably, and is a sturdier garment–but it costs a whole lot more than the Mountain Hardwear kilt. This is a much more reasonably priced option.
How can I look less punk?
I am a 16 year old female. I have three things that make me look sort of punk but I will NOT get rid of: a pair of doc martens, a kutte vest, and black hair that has long bangs but a buzzed back. I love all of that, and it's not going away. Still, I'd' rather not be mistaken for punk because I am not punk. I have respect for punk culture, but I'm not punk. Right now I mainly wear t-shirts or long sleeve knits, men's shorts or loose jeans and either kilt Knitting Pattern the doc martens or worn out cnavas sneakers. I often wear a hat covered in button pins. I also have thick rimmed glasses. I wear no makeup, and I'm not going to start. Other than that, I have one really nice medieval-looking tunic that is cinched with a jeweled belt, a pretty rose embroidered blouse, a purple flannel shirt, a grey blouse covered in stars that looks sort of indie-ish, a grey plaid kilt, a pinstriped fedora, a studded belt, a leopard print belt, a plain belt with a giant belt buckle, another plain belt with a giant skull buckle and a few men's dress shirts. I buy all my clothing at thrift stores, and again not going to stop with that, so I can have more clothing than I would if I wasn't buying from thrift stores. How can I look less punk? I've got room to get rid of clothing (going to donate it to charity) but I won't get rid of what I really like.Punk isn't a "label." It is a culture, a culture I'm not part of.

All kidding aside, this leather kilt is worth every penny. It is a lot more versatile than you might expect. I wear mine around the house, in the boudoir, and even to the job site: The double-ply leather and riveted construction provides a little extra protection, if you know what I mean, and it looks a lot sharper than a traditional cup or codpiece. You can probably also wear it underneath your jeans or slacks, although if you want a less ostentatious look, I’m sure there are cheaper, less elegant alternatives on the market. I also find this leather kilt indispensable around the kitchen. Layered with a pair of Elegant Moments CHAPS, this kilt will keep you protected from bubbling soups, sizzling bacon, and everything in between!
